The ProVen VCTs hosted their annual shareholder event on the morning of Tuesday 14 July 2026. The session featured a series of presentations from Beringea, the investment manager, alongside an interactive discussion with the boards of the ProVen VCTs and interviews with the CEOs and founders of several current portfolio companies.

This year, the programme was built around a central theme that is increasingly shaping the strategy and activity of the ProVen VCTs: artificial intelligence. Key highlights from the event included:

·       Interview with Estelle McCartney, Arctic Shores: the CEO of Arctic Shores, a provider of task-based psychometric assessments for recruitment shared her insights into how the business is enabling hirers to identify talent in the age of AI.

·       Update on the VCT market and performance of the ProVen VCTs: Harry Thomas, Partner and Head ofPortfolio at Beringea provided a detailed overview of the latest regulatory changes to VCTs, and the returns delivered by the funds in the past year.

·       Interview with Taymoor Atighetchi, Papier: theCEO and founder of Papier offered his perspectives on how the leading online stationery brand is tapping into consumer demand for analog experiences amid the rise of AI.

·       Update on investment activity and portfolio: Emma Biasiolo, Investment Director at Beringea, provided the latest update on investments – including new additions Cycle Exchange and Kord – and recent exits from WiredScore and AccessPay.

·       Investing and building in an AI-enabled world: our latest ‘Meet the Manager’ featured Anna Kuriakose, Director of ProVen Growth & Income VCT, and Kiu Kim, Investment Director at Beringea, discussing how AI is shaping every step of the investment process.

·       Interview with Mikhail Dubov, Chattermill: theCEO and co-founder of Chattermill, the customer experience analytics platform, delved into how AI has underpinned the growth of the business, and how it is reshaping how brands interact with consumers.

·       Shareholder Q&A: our regular panel – moderated this year by Marc Vlessing OBE, Chair of ProVen Growth & Income VCT – saw shareholders ask their questions of board directors and the senior leadership of Beringea.
